So, what else can you do to stop any weight creeping on when you stop smoking? Try these additional helpful tips and tricks:
1. Remember the benefits of stopping smoking. Take pleasure in what a great thing you're doing for yourself and your loved ones. Write the benefits on a piece of card to keep with you or on your phone.
2. Improve your lifestyle in advance. It can sometimes help to lose weight or start a regular exercise program prior to stopping smoking. That way, you can focus your energies on one challenge at a time.
3. Avoid temptations. Once you know your individual triggers, you can avoid them. Take a walk after dinner if that's the time you used to eat a heavy dessert or smoke.
4. If you used smoking to deal with negative feelings or emotions, find other healthier ways to deal with those issues
5. Change your routines. If you used to have a coffee and cigarette on waking for example, have a shower or get dressed before your morning coffee, or change to a different beverage. Apply changes to any time you previously smoked.
Congratulations on making the decision to stop smoking! You're on your way to better health and a longer life.
These suggestions can help you give up cigarettes without gaining weight, and the end result will be a happier, healthier you.
