Having spent most of my career in a corporate legal environment I decided that I wanted to do something more fulfilling in my working life.
I came across some people who helped those suffering from anxiety, weight issues and phobias and the like, and decided that that was what I wanted to do. I undertook some intensive training in NLP and Hypnotherapy to understand more. I have subsequently studied Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy which combines hypnotherapy and CBT to provide a more evidence based approach to my work.
Now I am a fully qualified Clinical and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist & NLP Practitioner and I help people of all ages and backgrounds to overcome various issues from my treatment room in Basingstoke but also work online over zoom, seeing clients from around the world. I am also trained in Hypnosis for Advanced Sports Performance.
I am a General Hypnotherapy Register Senior Practitioner, (GHR/Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice); am a Mental Health First Aider; and am a Hypnotherapy Supervisor, as well as being qualified in EMDR for Hypnotherapists.
I have been in practice for over 13 years and have thousands of hours of therapy experience, in many different areas.
I have helped students, company MDs, scientists, executives, housewives, bankers, sportsmen and women, retired professionals, entrepreneurs...it really doesn't matter what your background, I can help you.
I don't just help people with their issues, I also use these techniques to help myself with anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome.
I was previously the Continuing Professional Development Officer for the Professional Hypnotherapy Network, which encourages and supports the highest quality of professional practice and standards of training in clinical hypnotherapy, until work commitments took precedence.

I could list all of my qualifications and experience, or mention that I was the Continuing Professional Development Officer for the Professional Hypnotherapy Network. I could point you in the direction of my client reviews, or tell you that unlike many hypnotherapists, I do this full time, which means that I have a lot more therapy hours under my belt! I could point out that I regularly run my own Beginner's Self Hypnosis Courses; have created my own Mind Detox recordings or that I am also the co-creator of Hypnocise a weight management and well-being programme of which I am extremely proud.
But what I really want to tell you is that I absolutely LOVE what I do and really wouldn't want to do anything else!
I love seeing people change in front of my eyes, be it the way they walk into reception, to hearing about the holiday memories they have created after we had worked together on their flying phobia; or to hear about them being able to get through a presentation or interview confidently and getting that job or promotion; or to hear about how stopping smoking or losing weight has impacted on their lives; or to hear how pleased they are just be able to get out of their comfort zone, or manage their IBS symptoms or anxiety.
I like to have a balance of focus and fun in my therapy room and I treat my clients like I would an old friend, or new one come to that! This might not suit everyone but I find it makes for a great client/therapist relationship, which impacts on the results we achieve.
Many of my past clients still keep in touch, send updates and Christmas cards, or just pop in for a cuppa to let me know how they are getting along.
