Generalised Anxiety Disorder is long term anxiety which lasts in excess of 6 months but is unaccompanied by panic attacks, phobias or obsessions. It is characterised by excessive and unexplained irrational worrying about everyday things, but the sufferer finds it difficult to exert much control over the worrying. Additionally the intensity and frequency of the worry is often disproportionate to the actual likelihood of the feared events happening.

"Being a musician I love live music, but for years I've put off going to many gigs & festivals due to anxiety - anxiety about travelling & getting stuck in traffic (bonkers, I know!) and anxiety about being in big, crowded places.

"I have been struggling with anxiety and depression for about three years now. I've suffered with anxiety for a lot longer but this is what causes my depression. I have seen many counselors throughout my life and when I first started suffering with depression I saw a hypnotherapist to try and help.
The first hypnotherapist I saw was not that helpful however when I came to see Annalise, I felt a lot more comfortable and felt I could talk to her more about my problems and not be judged or feel stupid.
I only saw Annalise 2-3 times but it has really helped me as Annalise gave me a lot of different techniques to go through to get used to at home and do on my own. One of them was identifying when I am having bad thoughts and ways to change them and to be more positive. I do still struggle daily but I am able to do a lot more things as I can deal with my anxiety and face it, whereas before I was scared to and would stop myself doing things socially with friends or family.
